When my mother awoke I had been alone for some time.....




What I remember are just

the nibbles of my mother's hazy recollection

Fluttering sensation

Gurney in the hallway

Single sharp pain

Father dropping his can of coke

Fearful doctor

Not the forceps

Slowing heartbeat, emergency

then oblivion
