Run girl run

Run from love as it chases you down

with its' iron grip and crushing teeth

You know not to trust that siren song

It caught you once or twice before

Tearing your soft flesh before you wriggled free

To hide, to lick your wounds

Run girl run

From the love that catches in your throat like a swallowed rock,

you thought was sugary sweet

You'll drown without air

You'll break the fragile dam of your heart

that barely holds the universe together

Love comes bursting through like a solar flare

Run girl run

You've only got 8 minutes

before it goes supernova

and all is ash
